The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission has announced the 12 finalists set to compete in the 2026 Cavalier Rum Calypso Monarch competition, one of the centrepiece events of Antigua Carnival.
According to Antigua News Room, the finalists are Lyrical Reds, Queen Gee Bee, Lady Melody, Di Dacta, Peetron, King Zacari, Willie Wawa, Dr. Solo, Queen Thalia, Faithful, King Young Destroyer, and King Fiah.
The Commission congratulated the performers on advancing to the finals, noting that they will compete for the 2026 Calypso Monarch crown in what is expected to be an evening of high-quality performances.
The Calypso Monarch competition holds a revered place within Antigua Carnival, showcasing original compositions that traditionally blend social commentary, storytelling, and entertainment. The winner will succeed the reigning monarch and claim the prestigious national title for 2026.
