Entertainer Tian Winter has been confirmed as the replacement for veteran performer Sir Clarence "Oungku" Edwards at the highly anticipated FACE OFF Carnival event, following news of the beloved musician's ongoing health concerns.

According to Antigua.news, promoters Flames and FACE OFF confirmed that the event will proceed as scheduled despite Sir Oungku's absence, stressing that the artist's health and well-being remain their foremost priority.

Organizers say they were informed on Wednesday of Sir Oungku's medical situation, which affected the advertised performances by Burning Flames, Red Hot Flames and FACE OFF. In a public statement, promoters expressed their support for the veteran musician and wished him a full and speedy recovery.

"To everyone asking about FACE OFF, rest assured, the show goes on," the statement read.

With Sir Oungku unable to take the stage, Tian Winter has accepted the challenge of performing against Dominica's Triple K International in what organizers say will remain one of the marquee events of the Carnival season.

Winter expressed both pride and respect in accepting the role, paying tribute to the iconic performer he is stepping in for.

"I, Tian Winter, will proudly step onto the stage and accept the challenge to battle Dominica's finest, Triple K," he said.

The show will also feature several of Antigua's top musical acts, as organizers seek to rally public support for Team Antigua while honouring Sir Oungku's significant contribution to the country's music industry.

Promoters are encouraging the public to turn out in large numbers, back the local performers and help make the event a memorable celebration of Antiguan music despite the unexpected change to the lineup.
