The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has announced steady progress on the rehabilitation of its approximately 1.5 million imperial gallon water storage tank at Crabbs, with a significant phase of the project now complete.
According to Antigua News Room, contractors have finished applying the first coat to the interior shell of the tank as restoration work continues on the critical water infrastructure.
The scope of the project extends beyond the interior coating. Works also include the full replacement of the tank's base, along with the installation of protective rings designed to guard against corrosion. APUA says these measures are aimed at extending the structure's operational lifespan and improving its overall reliability.
No timeline has been announced for the completion of the project.
