ST. JOHN'S, Antigua — Cost Pro Supermarket has permanently closed its doors at Woods Mall, leaving all employees out of work following a full redundancy termination, according to Antigua News Room.
In a letter dated July 9, management notified staff that the supermarket had ceased operations and that their employment ended on that same date, as their positions were no longer required.
The company confirmed that employees will receive their salaries through their final day of work. Management also stated that payroll records are currently under review to calculate any additional payments owed, including accrued vacation pay, notice pay where applicable, and severance pay in accordance with Antigua and Barbuda's labour laws.
Workers are expected to receive a final payment statement by July 17, detailing any outstanding amounts due and subject to statutory deductions.
As reported by Antigua News Room, employees have also been instructed to return all company property — including uniforms, keys, identification cards, equipment, and documents — no later than July 17.
In its communication to staff, Cost Pro thanked employees for their service and extended its best wishes for their future employment.
The closure marks the permanent end of the supermarket's operations at Woods Mall.
