Antigua and Barbuda's Inland Revenue Department (IRD) collected EC$377.9 million in taxes during the first six months of 2026, marking a significant year-over-year increase, according to Antigua News Room.

Figures released by the department show collections rose by EC$38 million compared to the EC$339.9 million recorded by the end of June 2025. The growth trend extends further back, with revenue climbing from EC$290.2 million in the first half of 2024, reflecting consistent gains over three consecutive years.

The IRD attributed the improved performance to stronger enforcement and more efficient tax administration. Measures driving the increase included legal action against delinquent taxpayers, expanded audit activity, intensified efforts to recover outstanding tax arrears, and improved compliance with filing and payment requirements.

Officials said the continued growth reflects the department's commitment to strengthening tax compliance and improving revenue collection across Antigua and Barbuda.
