The Antigua & Barbuda Volleyball Association (ABAVA) has announced the selection of coach Braulio Estrada Lopez to represent the twin-island nation at the 2026 Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Beach Volleyball Coaches Course. According to Antigua News Room, the five-day programme is scheduled to take place in Saint Kitts & Nevis from July 8 to 12, 2026.
The regional course forms part of ECVA's broader commitment to elevating coaching standards across the Caribbean, incorporating modern technical instruction, athlete development strategies and internationally recognised best practices in beach volleyball.
Estrada Lopez's selection reflects ABAVA's ongoing investment in the professional development of its coaching staff. The Association has stated that by expanding access to structured learning opportunities, it aims to raise the standard of coaching available to athletes at every level — from grassroots participation to national representation.
Throughout his involvement with volleyball in Antigua and Barbuda, Estrada Lopez has demonstrated a consistent dedication to athlete development and a drive to deepen his technical knowledge of the sport. His participation in the course is seen as a significant step toward building local coaching capacity and ensuring that Antiguan and Barbudan athletes benefit from internationally informed methodologies.
ABAVA noted that the practical knowledge and experience gained through the programme will support the continued growth of the nation's beach volleyball programme and contribute to the long-term development of coaches, athletes and the sport as a whole.
As Estrada Lopez prepares to travel to Saint Kitts & Nevis, ABAVA has extended its congratulations on his selection and expressed confidence in his ability to represent the nation with distinction throughout the course.
The Antigua & Barbuda Volleyball Association serves as the national governing body responsible for the development and promotion of both indoor and beach volleyball across the twin-island state, overseeing athlete development, coach and referee education, youth programmes, national competitions and international representation.
