An HR consultant is calling on workers across the Caribbean to stop feeling guilty for prioritising their mental health, cautioning that dismissing early warning signs can lead to serious burnout.
According to Antigua Observer, Hadasha Buckmire, who heads HB International Consultancy Services, made the remarks during an interview with Observer AM on Tuesday.
Buckmire warned that burnout remains a pressing concern in workplaces throughout the region, and that employees too often push through psychological distress out of a sense of obligation or fear of being perceived as weak.
She urged workers to recognise the early indicators of mental strain and take proactive steps to address them, rather than waiting until the situation becomes unmanageable.
