Cabinet has endorsed ambitious plans to transform the Perry Bay and Keeling Point area into a mixed-use development, while protecting Darkwood Beach through the creation of a dedicated public recreational park.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne advised Cabinet that the Perry Bay project will feature residential housing, a marina, and commercial lots intended to stimulate investment and generate employment opportunities.

Cabinet also received updates on proposals to enhance Darkwood Beach through the development of a public park designed to preserve the area's natural beauty while expanding access to recreational amenities.

The Government stressed that comprehensive Environmental Impact Assessments must be completed before either project moves forward. Those assessments, Cabinet noted, will ensure that environmental protection remains central to the planning process as both initiatives advance toward implementation.

Officials described the projects as part of the Government's broader strategy to balance sustainable economic growth with responsible environmental stewardship.
