St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda — LIAT Air has issued a formal apology to customers, partners, and stakeholders following significant disruptions to its flight schedule over two days. According to Antigua News Room, the airline attributed the disruptions to unforeseen aircraft technical issues that affected operations across its network.
In a statement, LIAT Air said that all necessary technical inspections and maintenance were completed before the affected aircraft were returned to service. The airline cited its commitment to safety as the reason for grounding the planes, acknowledging that while the inspections were essential, they resulted in delays and cancellations impacting a number of flights.
LIAT Air confirmed it is actively implementing recovery measures to restore its schedule and prevent further disruption. Operational teams are working around the clock to rebook affected passengers on the next available LIAT Air flight, as well as on partner airlines and other available services.
"Every effort is being made to return services to normal as quickly and safely as possible," the airline stated.
LIAT Air thanked customers and partners for their patience and continued support, reaffirming its commitment to restoring normal operations and delivering reliable service across its network.
