The Antigua and Barbuda government is considering a significant expansion of its windfall tax, which would apply the measure to all businesses recording annual profits of EC$1 million or more, according to Antigua Observer.
The proposal, if adopted, would represent a substantial broadening of the tax, which was originally introduced in 2019 and applied only to select high-earning sectors.
The matter was taken up during Cabinet's weekly meeting on Wednesday and subsequently outlined to the public at Thursday's post-Cabinet press briefing, as reported by Antigua Observer.
