Sports Minister Dwayne George has held talks with the executive of the Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) to map out strategies for advancing football development across the twin-island nation.
The ABFA announced that the meeting centred on strengthening cooperation between the Ministry of Sports and the national football body, while identifying concrete opportunities to support the sport's growth at every level.
Key areas on the agenda included player development, infrastructure improvements, and initiatives designed to expand opportunities for athletes across all age groups and skill levels.
The two parties also explored avenues for deeper collaboration between the government and the ABFA, with the shared goal of building a stronger, more sustainable foundation for football in Antigua and Barbuda.
Minister George reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the sport and to fostering the kind of partnerships that can drive its continued development.
The discussions form part of a broader, ongoing effort to improve sporting opportunities and strengthen football programmes nationwide.
