Antigua and Barbuda seized a national television platform during Caribbean Week in New York to promote the twin-island nation's tourism offerings, cultural heritage and marquee summer events.

According to Antigua News Room, Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez appeared on PIX11 News alongside Senator Angelica O'Donoghue, U.S. Market Director Dean Fenton and Senior Digital Marketing Officer Abena Merchant as part of the annual Caribbean tourism event's promotional activities.

The delegation spotlighted several of the nation's signature attractions, including the Frigate Bird Sanctuary in Barbuda and Nelson's Dockyard in Antigua — a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fernandez also addressed the country's commitment to sustainable tourism and used the appearance to promote locally produced English Harbour Rum.

With Antigua Carnival on the horizon, officials took the opportunity to highlight the festival's significance as a celebration of the country's music, culture and traditions. The minister additionally pointed to the success of Antigua and Barbuda's Culinary Month, underscoring the role of local cuisine in shaping the overall visitor experience.

The PIX11 appearance was one of several engagements undertaken by the Antigua and Barbuda delegation during Caribbean Week, which also included trade meetings and a broader schedule of media and tourism promotion activities.
