The family of the late Jamaican business and tourism mogul Gordon 'Butch' Stewart has resolved its internal differences following his death in January 2021, announcing a united front behind the continued growth of his hospitality empire.

The announcement was made in a joint press release issued through Bahamian law firm LennoxPaton.

Stewart, formally known as The Honourable Gordon 'Butch' Stewart OJ, was the founder of the globally recognised Sandals and Beaches Group. Disputes among family members emerged in the wake of his passing, though the nature of those differences was not detailed in the release.

The family expressed optimism about the road ahead. 'The family look forward to moving on with their lives and are excited by the continued development and success of Butch's abiding legacy, the Sandals and Beaches Group,' the release stated.

The resolution brings a close to a period of uncertainty surrounding the leadership and direction of one of the Caribbean's most prominent hospitality brands.
