The Salvation Army has announced that its charity tea party fundraiser surpassed its financial target, marking a successful launch of a new Student Scholarship Fund aimed at supporting local students with tuition costs.
According to Antigua Observer, Salvation Army Advisory Board Chair Sharon Brusch confirmed that the "Pathway to Purpose" fundraiser exceeded the amount the organisation had set out to raise. The event, held on Sunday, was designed to generate funds to help local students cover tuition expenses through the newly established scholarship programme.
The successful outcome of the tea party signals strong community support for the initiative, which is intended to open educational pathways for students in Antigua and Barbuda who may face financial barriers to accessing higher education.
