Alex Beach of Miami claimed victory in the 21-kilometre half marathon at the 10th edition of Run In Paradise on Sunday, setting a new course record with a time of 1:17:57.00.
According to Antigua Observer, Beach, competing in the event for the first time, finished ahead of one of Antigua and Barbuda's top long-distance runners to take the top honours in what proved to be a milestone edition of the race.
The performance marks a significant moment for the annual event, which celebrated its tenth edition this year, drawing an international field and producing record-breaking results on the course.
