The government has signalled that the persistent cement shortages disrupting construction and roadworks across Antigua and Barbuda are coming to an end, according to Antigua.news.

Governor General Sir Rodney Williams addressed the issue during Tuesday's Throne Speech, acknowledging that the shortages have created significant challenges for infrastructure projects nationwide.

The speech indicated that dredging works near the cement silos at Crabbes are nearing completion. Officials stated that once finished, the works are expected to improve the ease of cement deliveries into the country.

The government expressed confidence that the supply constraints, which have hampered both construction activity and road repair efforts, will soon be resolved.
