Antigua and Barbuda is set to gain a new air link to Africa later this month, as Nigerian carrier Air Peace prepares to launch scheduled service connecting the twin-island nation with Lagos. According to Antigua.news, flights will begin on May 25 and operate twice monthly, with a stopover in Barbados forming part of the route.
Colin James, Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, said the new partnership is part of broader efforts to diversify the country's tourism source markets and expand its global reach.
Officials believe the route could unlock opportunities for tourism, trade, and cultural exchange, while bolstering Antigua and Barbuda's competitiveness in an increasingly challenging global tourism environment.
Under the published flight schedule, departures from Antigua will depart at 9 a.m., stopping in Barbados before continuing to Lagos, where passengers are expected to arrive the following day. Return flights from Lagos will follow the same routing through Barbados before landing back in Antigua.
Bookings for the new service are already open through Air Peace's website.
