Dozens of final-year students at the Antigua and Barbuda College of Advanced Studies (ABCAS) have received foundational training in industrial relations, better preparing them for entry into the workforce. According to Antigua Observer, the session was delivered by Kem Riley, President of the Antigua and Barbuda Workers' Union (ABWU).
The students, who were preparing to begin internships, benefited from the introductory presentation which covered key aspects of labour rights and workplace relations. The initiative reflects a growing effort to ensure that young professionals entering the job market are equipped not only with academic qualifications, but also with a practical understanding of their rights and responsibilities as workers.
Riley's engagement with the students underscores the ABWU's commitment to outreach and education, extending the union's advocacy beyond its existing membership to the next generation of Antiguan and Barbudan professionals.
