The Eastern Caribbean Amalgamated Bank Limited (ECAB) has announced the permanent closure of its Woods Branch, also known as ECAB Legacy, effective June 1, 2026. According to Antigua News Room, the bank has outlined a series of transition arrangements to ensure customers experience minimal disruption to their banking services.
Full banking services, including ATM access, will remain available at other ECAB branch locations following the closure. Customers are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the updated service arrangements ahead of the transition date.
Night Deposit customers have been advised to transfer their service to the branch nearest to their business. To facilitate this, customers must contact the Woods Branch at 268-480-3921 or email the branch directly to confirm their preferred location. New keys will be made available for collection at the Woods Branch 48 hours after a request is received, and customers will be required to return their existing Woods Branch Night Safe keys in exchange. All night deposit arrangements must be completed on or before May 29, 2026, to ensure uninterrupted service.
Customers with Safe Deposit Boxes are invited to transfer their boxes to alternative ECAB locations, subject to availability. Arrangements must also be confirmed and completed by May 29, 2026. The bank has noted that any boxes not cleared by that date will be automatically transferred to the Redcliffe Street Branch.
Regarding cheque books and cards, customers are encouraged to collect all outstanding items by May 29, 2026. Any uncollected items will be transferred to the Woods Branch at the former Scotiabank location and will be available for collection from June 1, 2026.
Customer appointments for service requests, new accounts, and account updates from June 1, 2026 onwards will be facilitated at designated branch locations. Customers are also reminded that online and mobile banking services remain available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
