The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has claimed second-place finishes in both the Experienced and Apprentice categories at the 2026 CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo, held in Dominica.
According to Antigua News Room, the strong dual podium finish places Team APUA among the top-performing utility crews in the Caribbean, following a high-intensity competition that tested safety, speed and technical precision.
The event, hosted by the Caribbean Electric Utility Services Corporation, brought together utility teams from across the region to compete in real-world scenarios designed to reflect the demands of linework under pressure.
APUA entered the competition as defending champions. While the team did not retain the overall title, their second-place results in both categories demonstrate the continued strength and consistency of Antigua and Barbuda's utility workers at the regional level.
The CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo remains one of the premier events on the Caribbean utilities calendar, serving as a showcase for the skill and safety standards of electricity workers across the region.
