The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) is competing to retain its championship title at the 2026 CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo, which got underway in Dominica on Sunday, according to Antigua News Room.

The regional event brings together electricity lineworker teams from across the Caribbean, combining training, collaboration and competitive performance in a high-profile showcase of the industry's technical skills.

CARILEC stated that participating teams are being judged on safety, speed and precision as they tackle real-world linework challenges under competitive pressure. The association described the event as a high-energy demonstration of Caribbean lineworker excellence, following several days of preparation among the competing teams.

APUA enters the competition as the defending champion. Attention now turns to whether the Antigua and Barbuda team can successfully retain the coveted CARILEC Lineworkers Rodeo title.
