A local consumer has raised serious product safety concerns after discovering a foreign substance inside a Pinehill apple juice carton, according to Antigua News Room.
The complaint was posted in a local customer service forum, where the individual reported finding the substance at the bottom of a one-litre Pinehill apple juice carton. The product carried an expiry date of August 1, 2026, and bore the batch code EY 22:41:21.
The consumer stated that attempts to reach the company directly were unsuccessful. Emails reportedly "bounced back," and outreach via Facebook yielded no response. "Thankfully no one got sick," the individual wrote, while also seeking information on the product's local distributor.
Images accompanying the forum post appear to show a thick, discoloured mass inside the opened carton.
As reported by Antigua News Room, neither the manufacturer nor any local distributor had issued an official response at the time of publication.
Food safety concerns involving packaged beverages can stem from contamination during production, improper storage, or spoilage. Such matters are typically referred to public health or consumer protection authorities when formally reported.
Consumers who encounter suspected contaminated products are advised to retain all packaging, including batch codes and expiry information, and to report the matter to the relevant health or standards agencies for formal investigation.
