Darwin Telemaque, Port Manager of Antigua and Barbuda and Chairman of the Port Management Association of the Caribbean (PMAC), has secured a US$10 million grant from the U.S. Department of State aimed at transforming port infrastructure across the Caribbean region.

According to Antigua Observer, the announcement followed a high-level Caribbean Ports Roundtable held on Monday, April 20, 2026, at which Telemaque represented the region's maritime interests on an international stage.

The grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of State, is expected to drive significant modernisation efforts across Caribbean ports, with Antigua and Barbuda's leadership playing a central role in securing the investment.

Telemaque's dual role as Antigua and Barbuda's Port Manager and PMAC Chairman positioned him as a key figure in the Washington discussions, underscoring the country's growing influence in regional maritime affairs.

As reported by Antigua Observer, the roundtable brought together high-level stakeholders to address infrastructure challenges facing Caribbean ports, with the resulting US$10 million commitment marking a notable outcome for the region.
