Antigua and Barbuda finished their 2025/26 Concacaf W Qualifiers campaign with a 1-1 draw against Dominica in Group B on Tuesday at Daren Sammy Cricket Ground in Gros Islet, Saint Lucia, according to Antigua News Room.
Dominica broke the deadlock in the 63rd minute when Trinity Esprit fired into the box to score what was a historic strike — the first-ever Concacaf W Qualifier goal for the Dominican nation. Antigua and Barbuda responded late, with Kai Jacobs converting a penalty kick to the bottom right corner in the 87th minute to level the score and secure the draw.
The late equaliser marked the second time Jacobs has scored and her team avoided defeat in Concacaf W Qualifier play, the first being a 1-0 victory over Anguilla on April 6, 2022.
As reported by Antigua News Room, Antigua and Barbuda concluded their Group B campaign with a 0-1-3 record, finishing in fourth place. Dominica, holding a 0-1-2 record, remains in fifth place and will look to improve their standing when they travel to face Nicaragua on Saturday.
Tuesday's result also marked just the second time Antigua and Barbuda have avoided defeat in a Concacaf W Qualifier match, following a 0-0 draw with Barbados on March 18, 2006.
