A veteran volleyballer is taking legal action to halt an upcoming electoral congress for the Antigua and Barbuda Amateur Volleyball Association (ABAVA), according to Antigua Observer.
Deon Francis, a former national player and current manager of both the Renegades men's team and the Royal Cruisers women's team, has announced he will file an injunction with the High Court. The legal move is aimed at postponing ABAVA's electoral congress, which is currently scheduled for April 14th.
The decision to pursue court intervention came after the association wrote to Francis, the details of which prompted him to seek judicial relief. As reported by Antigua Observer, Francis is seeking to have the elections delayed pending the outcome of his application.
