A seasoned Human Resources professional is continuing to shape workplace culture in Antigua's hospitality sector through a career defined by people development and organizational excellence. According to Antigua News Room, Anique Goodwin — a certified HR and Industrial Relations professional with over 30 years of experience — has built a reputation for championing inclusive, people-centered leadership at Curtain Bluff Resort.
Goodwin's journey in human resources began at age 17, when she joined World Wide Tele Sports (WWTS) and quickly gained hands-on experience in recruitment and employee engagement. That early start laid the foundation for a career spanning a broad range of HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, performance management, organizational development, coaching, team building, employee relations, and change management.
She has also developed deep expertise in compensation and benefits strategies, as well as workplace wellness, health, and safety initiatives. Throughout her career, Goodwin has demonstrated a consistent ability to balance organizational objectives with employee needs — an alignment she credits as essential to sustainable growth.
Her move into the hospitality industry further reinforced her people-first philosophy. At Curtain Bluff Resort, she has helped cultivate a workplace culture grounded in respect, opportunity, and continuous development. The resort's investment in its employees has yielded strong staff loyalty and a collaborative environment where individuals support one another and lead by example.
Goodwin is particularly passionate about equipping both managers and employees with the tools needed to thrive in ever-evolving business environments. She places special emphasis on identifying and nurturing future talent, creating clear pathways for growth, and empowering individuals to reach their full potential.
"It's more than just skills — it's about personality and potential," Goodwin said. "When you invest in people, they invest in you." She also stresses the importance of recognition, noting that acknowledging employees' contributions is fundamental to building positive workplace cultures.
Goodwin's full hospitality story, produced as part of the Antigua and Barbuda Hotel and Tourism Association's (ABHTA) ongoing spotlight series, is available on ABHTA's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram platforms (@AntiguaHotels).
