The Antigua Elite Gymnastics Academy has made a striking entrance onto the regional stage, securing 16 medals and finishing second overall in its first competitive outing.

According to Antigua News Room, the team competed against approximately 300 athletes representing Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago, and Jamaica. Beyond the medal haul, the academy also swept the all-around trophies, claiming first, second, and third place — a remarkable achievement for a team making its regional debut.

In a statement, the academy praised its athletes for the confidence and composure they displayed throughout the competition, calling the experience "a wonderful experience and a strong start" to their gymnastics journey.

The results are widely seen as a promising sign for the future of gymnastics in Antigua and Barbuda, as the nation continues to grow its presence in the sport at the regional level.
