The Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) has launched a Utility Amnesty Programme aimed at residential customers whose electricity, water, or telephone services have been disconnected for more than 180 days, offering them a path to restore access to essential services.

The programme follows a Cabinet decision made in April 2026 by the Government of Antigua and Barbuda. It is designed to give long-disconnected households the opportunity to regularise their accounts and reconnect to critical utility services.

Customers whose services were disconnected on or before September 30, 2025, are eligible to apply. APUA is encouraging all affected residents to take advantage of the initiative before the deadline.

Applications are being processed at two locations: the APUA Business Centre on Independence Avenue and the Village Walk customer service centre. Applicants must present a valid government-issued identification along with their account number. Tenants are additionally required to provide a letter of permission from their landlord.

The deadline to submit an application is May 29, 2026.

APUA describes the programme as part of a broader effort to support households facing prolonged disconnections and to restore access to utilities that are fundamental to everyday life.
