Dion Kiethly Massiah of New Winthorpes has claimed victory at the Jermaine Kentish Birthday Shootout for the third consecutive year, walking away with the grand prize of five hundred Eastern Caribbean dollars.
According to Antigua News Room, Massiah — a veteran greens keeper at Cedar Valley Golf Course — secured his hat-trick of wins by outlasting a star-studded field and defeating the birthday boy, Jermaine Kentish, in the second round of playoffs on the 18th green. The victory adds to his previous wins in 2024 and 2025.
Kentish earned two hundred and fifty dollars for his runner-up finish, while Dave Christian took home one hundred and fifty dollars after placing third in the nine-hole championship.
The event drew a number of prominent figures, including national hero Sir Viv Richards, fellow West Indies cricket legends Sir Richie Richardson and Eldine Baptiste, and Donut Ace entrepreneur Akeem Edwards. Dan Archibald was recognised as the competition's best dressed player.
Seventeen players participated in the shootout, which was sponsored by Errol Hodge and Sir Richie Richardson.
