Antigua and Barbuda's CARIFTA Games-bound athletes received a motivational boost this week when champion bodybuilder Melissa Seaforth addressed the team in a special session organised by the Antigua Barbuda Athletic Association (ABAA).

According to Antigua News Room, Seaforth — a professional bodybuilder, reigning 2025 IFBB Pro Masters World Champion, and back-to-back Sportswoman of the Year for 2024 and 2025 — spoke candidly with the athletes about the mental and physical demands of competing at the highest level.

Drawing on her own experience on the international stage, Seaforth offered practical guidance on preparing for major competitions, enduring intense training sessions, and performing under pressure when it matters most.

She also stressed the importance of discipline and forward planning, sharing the principle of the "5 P's" — Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance — as a cornerstone of athletic success.

The session was interactive in nature, with athletes taking the opportunity to ask Seaforth questions about managing pre-competition nerves and maintaining mental focus on the big stage.

ABAA officials thanked Seaforth for her time and mentorship, expressing confidence that her insights will have a meaningful and positive impact on the young competitors as they finalise their preparations for the regional tournament.
