Antigua and Barbuda's tourism sector continues to perform strongly, with hotel properties across the country reporting consistently high occupancy rates, according to Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Transportation, and Investment Charles Fernandez.
As reported by Antigua Observer, Minister Fernandez attributed the robust arrival figures to the twin-island nation's reputation as a safe destination, at a time when safety concerns are influencing travel decisions across the wider region.
The new runway development was also cited by the minister as a key factor driving the positive trend, signalling that improvements to the country's aviation infrastructure are playing a meaningful role in attracting visitors.
Minister Fernandez provided the update in a recent briefing, underscoring the government's position that ongoing investment in both safety and infrastructure remains central to sustaining momentum in the tourism industry — the country's primary economic driver.
