Two young students from Antigua and Barbuda have earned third place at the inaugural OECS Super Regional Robotics Challenge held in St Kitts, overcoming significant technical hurdles to represent their nation with distinction.
According to Antigua Observer, Micah Matthew, 15, and Michael Harvey, 14, both third form students, represented Antigua and Barbuda at the Caribbean Regional Robotics Competition, which took place from March 16 to 20, 2026.
The pair's podium finish is a notable achievement, particularly given the technical challenges they faced during the course of the competition. Despite these setbacks, the two young competitors pushed through to secure a creditable result against regional rivals.
Their performance shines a light on the growing strength of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics talent emerging from Antigua and Barbuda's schools, and signals promise for the nation's future participation in regional and international STEM competitions.
