The Ministry of Agriculture, Lands, Fisheries and the Blue Economy has begun receiving a new fleet of heavy-duty equipment and tractors, marking a significant expansion of its agricultural support capacity.
The acquisition broadens the ministry's heavy-duty equipment department, enabling officials to extend greater assistance to farmers across Antigua and Barbuda.
Minister Anthony Smith said the new machinery will be deployed for land clearing, pond and dam construction, land preparation, and farm road repair.
The procurement forms part of a wider government plan to increase agricultural productivity and strengthen the country's food security.
