CMW New Winthorpes Lions have clinched the 2026 Two-Day Championship after a commanding victory over PIC Liberta Blackhawks, driven by an extraordinary all-round performance from West Indies fast bowler Alzarri Joseph. According to Antigua News Room, Joseph's contributions with both bat and ball proved decisive throughout the contest.
The Lions faced an early crisis in their first innings, slipping to 41 for 5 before Joseph anchored a remarkable recovery. He struck an aggressive 97, laced with 10 sixes and five fours, lifting New Winthorpes to a competitive 183 all out. Tyrone Williams Jr provided vital support, contributing 46. Javier Spencer was the pick of Liberta's bowlers, finishing with figures of 3 for 31.
Joseph was equally devastating with the ball. He tore through the Blackhawks' batting lineup to record figures of 8 for 24, including a hat-trick, dismissing Liberta for 146 and handing the Lions a 37-run first-innings lead.
