Nigerian airline Air Peace has strongly denied that its leadership has been formally notified of any legal action, following reports that the Lagos State Government filed a tax lawsuit against its top executives.

According to Antigua News Room, the airline stated that neither Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Allen Ifechukwu Onyema nor Vice Chairman Mrs. Alice Ojochide Onyema has received any court summons or official notification regarding the purported suit.

In a statement, the airline described as "surprising and shocking" the claim that legal proceedings have been ongoing since February without any formal service or communication to the parties named.

Air Peace insisted that all personal and corporate tax obligations have been fully met and remain current, in compliance with applicable laws and regulatory requirements. Nevertheless, the airline expressed willingness to engage the Lagos State Government should any discrepancy in tax computation be identified.

"The Onyemas and Air Peace remain open to engaging the Lagos State Government to review and reconcile shortfalls if any, in the interest of transparency, clarity, and due process," the statement read.

The airline also used the statement to reaffirm its broader commitment to Nigeria's aviation sector, citing a record of integrity, resilience, and patriotism demonstrated by its leadership over the years.

"We remain committed to the highest standards of professionalism and will not be distracted from serving the flying public," Air Peace added.
