Juelle Colaire has carved a remarkable career path within Antigua and Barbuda's aviation and hospitality sector, rising from a customer service entry point to her current role as Guest Experience Manager at Signature Aviation Antigua — all driven by a passion for making people feel genuinely welcomed.

According to Antigua News Room, Colaire's journey into hospitality began at a jewelry store in Heritage Quay, where she worked as a Sales Representative from 2018 to 2020. It was there she discovered that her greatest professional fulfillment came not from completing sales, but from forming authentic connections with guests visiting from around the world.

Long drawn to aviation, Colaire had once envisioned a future as a flight attendant. When her mother learned of an opening at Signature Aviation, she encouraged her daughter to apply. Despite limited knowledge of the aviation industry at the time, Colaire submitted her application and was offered the position.

On September 1, 2020 — in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic — she joined Signature Aviation as a Customer Service Representative. Stepping into the aviation sector during one of the most turbulent periods in global travel history, Colaire immersed herself in the full scope of aviation operations. She learned to coordinate aircraft arrivals, manage Port Health requirements, handle immigration and customs documentation, arrange ground transportation, deliver VIP meet-and-greet services, and oversee billing systems.

Her proactive approach set her apart early. Rather than waiting for direction, Colaire consistently took initiative, a quality that drew the attention of management and led to her being entrusted with greater responsibilities ahead of schedule.

In early 2024, under the mentorship of General Manager Kenyatta Thomas, she continued building her professional skill set by completing a series of LinkedIn learning courses provided by the company, deepening both her leadership capabilities and operational knowledge.

Today, Colaire leads Signature Aviation Antigua's guest experience operations with a philosophy rooted in the belief that small details create unforgettable impressions. Each day, she works to ensure every arriving guest receives a seamless, personalised welcome.

She offers direct advice to young people navigating uncertain career paths: "Don't remain in one position out of comfort. When you take that leap of faith, you grow, you learn, and you gain a deeper understanding of your field. Get educated on what you want to pursue. If you try something and discover you enjoy it, take the time to learn more about it. Do your research. Don't stay in one position — push yourself to elevate. Believe that you will find your footing."

Colaire's story is featured as part of an ongoing series by the Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association (ABHTA), celebrating the individuals who shape the island's hospitality industry. New episodes are released every two weeks on Tuesdays and Thursdays across ABHTA's YouTube, Facebook, and Instagram platforms (@AntiguaHotels).
