The Antigua and Barbuda Athletics Association (ABAA) has named its team for the 2026 CARIFTA Games, set to take place in Grenada over the Easter weekend from April 4th to April 6th, 2026. According to Antigua News Room, fourteen athletes across the Under-17 and Under-20 categories will represent the twin-island nation at the regional competition.

In the Under-17 Girls division, Zonique Charles will compete in the Javelin for SNRA, while Jaeda Pigott of SASS will run the 800m and Tyra Fenton, also of SASS, will contest the 200m and 400m events.

The Under-17 Boys contingent is the largest of the group, featuring six athletes. Naeem Simon of AGS will compete in the High Jump, while Geron Henry of PMS will run the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay. Lion Samuel, also of PMS, is entered in the 800m and 4x400m. Shaquan Garding of AGS will contest the 400m and 4x400m, and Shawn'zee Joseph of JSS will compete in the 1500m, 3000m, and 4x400m. Elite Thomas of ASSS rounds out the group, entered in the 1500m and 3000m.

At the Under-20 level, Kettia Ambrose, currently studying at St. John's University in the United States, will represent Antigua and Barbuda in the Girls category. The Under-20 Boys team includes Maliek Francis competing in the Javelin for ABCAS, Conroy Wilson in the 100m and 4x100m relay, Delbert Joseph of ASSS in the 100m, 200m, and 4x100m, Judah Ashe of ABCAS in the 200m and 4x100m, and Nathaniel Jones of Pares Secondary in the 4x100m relay.

The management team supporting the athletes will be led by Manager Everton Cornelius and Head Coach Jamille Nelson. Assistant coaches Heather Samuel-Daley and Evans Jawakie Jones will provide additional support, alongside Physio William Richards and Safeguarding Officer Anika Jno-Baptiste.

The team is scheduled to depart Antigua on April 2nd and return on April 7th, 2026. The ABAA extended congratulations to all selected athletes and wished them success as they prepare to compete on the regional stage.
