Hell's Gate Steel Orchestra has claimed the top prize in the steel band category at the National Music Awards, being crowned Steel Band of the Year in a competitive field that included fellow finalists Pandemonium Steel Orchestra and Rising Star Steel Orchestra.
According to Antigua News Room, the award recognises excellence in steel pan performance as well as contributions to the cultural heritage of Antigua and Barbuda.
The recognition places Hell's Gate Steel Orchestra at the pinnacle of local steel band achievement, distinguishing the group from two strong competitors in what is regarded as one of the nation's most prestigious musical honours.
