Nearly 700 student athletes are set to take to the track this week as Antigua and Barbuda prepares to host its annual Cool & Smooth/Joma Caribbean Inter-schools Track & Field Championships. According to Antigua Observer, a total of 659 athletes representing 17 schools are registered to compete in this year's edition of the prestigious meet.
The championships are slated to begin on Thursday, March 12, at the YASCO Sports Complex. The figures were confirmed by Commissioner of Sports and organizing committee member Dr. Colin, as reported by Antigua Observer.
The inter-schools meet is one of the most anticipated events on the local athletics calendar, providing young track and field competitors from across the island's secondary schools with a high-profile platform to showcase their talents.
