Cricket West Indies has secured commercial flights for members of the West Indies squad currently in India, after ongoing delays with charter flight arrangements organised by the International Cricket Council (ICC) left the team in a difficult situation. According to Antigua News Room, the governing body moved to arrange alternative travel after the ICC-coordinated charters failed to come through in a timely manner.
As is customary for both men's and women's ICC World Cup tournaments, all travel and accommodation arrangements for participating teams are the responsibility of the ICC. The breakdown in those arrangements, however, forced Cricket West Indies to intervene and independently secure commercial travel options for its players and team management.
Cricket West Indies issued an advisory confirming the steps taken to resolve the situation, signalling the organisation's commitment to ensuring the welfare and timely movement of its squad despite the logistical challenges posed by the ICC's charter delays.
