Monthly paid workers at the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) have suspended their industrial action after union representatives secured a commitment on the timeline for their outstanding demands, according to Antigua Observer.
The Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU), which serves as the bargaining agent for the affected workers, confirmed that the protest ended following a high-level meeting held at noon on the preceding day. AT&LU President Bernard de Nully told Antigua Observer that he, along with other representatives, participated in the talks that brought the work stoppage to a close.
As reported by Antigua Observer, de Nully confirmed the union had obtained a defined timeline addressing the workers' demands, a development that prompted the decision to end the industrial action.
