The Antigua and Barbuda Football Association (ABFA) is set to make a significant scheduling shift, returning its top-flight competition to all-daylight fixtures for the first time in more than ten years.
According to Antigua Observer, matches in the Antigua Premier League (APL) will kick off at 2:15 pm and 4:15 pm on Saturdays and Sundays respectively. The change also sees the FA moving away from its traditional triple-header format.
The move marks a notable departure from the scheduling structure that has been in place for well over a decade, signalling a broader effort by the football association to address operational concerns at its Technical Center.
As reported by Antigua Observer, the FA is racing to rectify a number of outstanding issues at the Technical Center, with the shift to daytime play forming part of those broader corrective measures.
The changes are expected to affect the experience of players, officials, and supporters alike, with daytime fixtures potentially improving visibility conditions and increasing accessibility for fans who may have found evening schedules difficult to attend.
