The president of the United Taxi Company (UTC), Ian Joseph, has welcomed the planned shift to weekly homeporting operations by 2027, describing the development as a positive step forward for the local taxi industry.
According to Antigua Observer, Joseph noted that homeporting operations are currently taking place on a 14-day cycle, but that frequency is expected to increase significantly in the years ahead. He expressed confidence in the move as the industry positions itself to accommodate an anticipated rise in visitor arrivals.
The transition to weekly homeporting would represent a meaningful expansion of cruise activity in Antigua and Barbuda, with direct implications for tourism-related businesses, including the ground transportation sector.
