Cabinet has issued a direct warning to the leadership of Antigua and Barbuda's Cannabis Authority, expressing concern over the slow pace of development within the country's medicinal cannabis industry and signalling that further scrutiny may follow if progress does not improve.

According to Antigua Observer, the Director General of Communications, Maurice Merchant, made the announcement during the weekly post-Cabinet briefing, revealing that Cannabis Authority Chairman Daven Joseph had been put on notice by the Cabinet.

The government's intervention signals growing impatience at the highest levels of administration with the pace at which the medicinal cannabis sector has developed since its establishment. Cabinet's directive represents a significant escalation, placing the Authority's leadership under heightened pressure to demonstrate measurable progress.
