The St. John's Rural South Youth Arm has crowned its first-ever Talent Takeover Champion following a successful inaugural staging of the competition on Saturday, July 18, at Club Labour. According to Antigua.news, the event brought together eight young performers for an evening of music, entertainment, and community engagement.
Abigail Noel claimed the top honour, earning first place and a $1,000 grand prize with her powerful rendition of Adele's One and Only. Ariel Royer finished second, taking home $600 for her original song, Young and Reckless, while Jr. Alstar Braffer rounded out the top three with a $400 prize for his original composition, Samba.
All placements were determined entirely by audience vote, giving the crowd a direct role in shaping the night's outcome.
The competition was not the evening's only draw. Guest performances by Voltage Band, C4 Entertainment, and Antsness added to the vibrant atmosphere, keeping the audience engaged throughout the night.
The St. John's Rural South Youth Arm extended its thanks to all contestants, performers, sponsors, volunteers, and patrons whose support contributed to the event's success. Buoyed by the strong response to the inaugural staging, the organisation has announced its intention to make Talent Takeover an annual platform dedicated to celebrating and nurturing young talent across Antigua and Barbuda.
