A 29-year-old man has been shot and killed in a brazen daylight drive-by shooting in Potters Village, with a teenager left in critical condition following the Sunday morning attack. According to Antigua.news, the victim has been identified as Leandro 'Leo' Hubbard.
Gunmen opened fire on a road directly opposite the Potters Primary School at approximately 10:45 a.m., fatally wounding Hubbard. An 18-year-old man who was present at the scene sustained serious gunshot injuries and was transported to the Sir Lester Bird Medical Centre by Emergency Medical Services. He remains in critical condition.
The attack has rattled residents of the surrounding community. Several neighbours reported hearing multiple gunshots before rushing outside to discover what had occurred.
Police cordoned off the area and launched a homicide investigation. Detectives and forensic officers spent several hours processing the crime scene and gathering evidence.
Investigators have not yet disclosed a motive for the killing and have not named any suspects. Authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the shooting, or who holds information that could assist the investigation, to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or 462-3914.
