The Honours Committee has issued a final call for nominations for the 2026 National Honours, with submissions due no later than Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. According to Antigua News Room, the committee is urging members of the public not to wait until the final day to submit their nominations.
The honours represent an opportunity to recognise outstanding individuals and institutions whose exceptional service, dedication and achievements have made a significant contribution to Antigua and Barbuda.
Nominations are being accepted for membership in three orders: The Most Distinguished Order of the Nation, The Most Illustrious Order of Merit, and The Most Precious Order of Princely Heritage.
The committee is encouraging members of the public, community organisations, professional bodies, churches, clubs and other institutions to put forward deserving nominees whose service has positively impacted their communities or the nation at large.
Individuals nominated should have demonstrated distinguished or meritorious service, integrity, selfless commitment and sustained excellence in their chosen field or in service to the people of Antigua and Barbuda. Institutions may also be nominated where they have made an outstanding contribution to the promotion, development or protection of the nation's arts, history, cultural heritage or humanitarian endeavours.
Nomination forms and accompanying guidance notes are available from the Office of the Governor General. Each submission must include at least two letters of support from persons familiar with the nominee's contribution, along with as much supporting information as possible.
Completed nomination forms should be submitted to: The Secretary, Honours Committee, Government House, Independence Drive, St. John's, Antigua and Barbuda. Signed scanned copies may also be emailed to [email protected], with a copy to [email protected].
Early submissions are strongly encouraged, as they allow the Honours Committee sufficient time to acknowledge receipt and begin the assessment process. Any nominations received after the July 31 deadline will be carried forward for consideration for the 2027 National Honours.
