Antigua and Barbuda's national surveillance network is nearing completion, with authorities identifying 42 strategic locations across the twin-island nation for high-definition CCTV cameras. According to Antigua.news, Attorney General and Minister for Public Safety Sir Steadroy Benjamin delivered the update to Cabinet as part of an ongoing briefing on the programme's progress.
Installation across all 42 sites is expected to be finalised by the final week of August. Once operational, the system will be integrated into the Royal Police Force's existing security infrastructure.
Authorities say the network will serve multiple functions, including crime prevention, criminal investigations, traffic management, and emergency response coordination.
Cabinet reaffirmed its commitment to modernising policing in Antigua and Barbuda through the increased use of technology.
