Police are investigating a suspected drug operation following the detention of at least two men during a late-night incident on Pares Main Road on Tuesday.
According to Antigua News Room, officers responded to the scene after one of the vehicles involved crashed along the roadside. The crash allegedly exposed several pounds of suspected cannabis that were being transferred between vehicles at the time of the incident.
The operation drew a large crowd of onlookers as police cordoned off the area and conducted their investigation shortly after 10 p.m.
Officials have not yet confirmed the exact quantity of suspected drugs seized, nor have they indicated whether additional arrests are anticipated.
