India and Antigua and Barbuda have held high-level discussions covering a broad range of bilateral issues, including preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM), sports cooperation and educational exchanges.

Acting High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Manoj Kumar, met with several senior Antiguan government officials during a visit to the island for the observance of the 12th International Day of Yoga. The High Commission of India in Guyana confirmed the meetings took place.

Kumar held talks with the Minister of Education, the Commissioner of Sports and the Director General in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The discussions addressed a range of pending bilateral matters, including preparatory arrangements for CHOGM, the selection of teams for the Girmitiya Games in India, and the utilisation of Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) training opportunities.

Scholarship programmes and other areas of mutual interest also featured on the agenda.

The meetings form part of continued engagement between the two nations aimed at strengthening cooperation across education, sports, capacity building and diplomatic relations.
